Born in Newcastle and a student of Hartlepool and Leicester Colleges of Art, John Paul Allon has lived in Scotland since 1974. He worked as a community artist in the Scottish Highlands and spent much of his career in adult education and training in north east Scotland prior to returning to full time painting.
His work has been inspired by the communities in which he has lived or travelled and his love of architecture is evident in the meticulous pieces he produces within the 3 equally unforgiving mediums of watercolour, pen and ink drawing, and etching in copper.
John Paul is a professional member of Aberdeen Artists Society and an artist member of Paisley Arts Institute.
